Dog Friendly Search Engine – TripAdvisor For Dog Owners
The Travel Hub Shares Dog Friendly Venues and Tail-Wagging Events Across the UK
Our free-to-use website features a sophisticated search engine to find dog friendly places and dog-related events.
Last year we surveyed 500 dog owners to find out exactly what tools dog owners wanted to help them find dog friendly places. We took all this information and re-designed the with feedback from the community and our Explorers.
We’re aiming to change the way dog owners research and plan their adventures by combining search and social together. Dog owners can sign up for their own profile, follow friends, send messages, save their favourite places and much like TripAdvisor, leave reviews.
Dog friendly hospitality and leisure businesses are invited to add their business or events to the website for free.
So What’s New?
New Review System
You can now rate a dog friendly place based on more than just 5 stars.
How dog friendly was it? Good Service? How spacious was the venue? Was it good value for money? This new system will help other dog owners to make more informed decisions while planning their trip. Have you visited a dog friendly place listed on our website? Leave a review and help the next dog owner.
You’ll now have the ability to search for #dogfuriendly places using a map view, perfect if you’re looking for a nearby pub after a walk. If you move the map, #dogfuriendly places move with it. This makes it so much easier to find places near you.
We know that the dog’s social calendar tends to be crazier than our own. That’s why we’ve put a huge focus on a new search engine for events. You can now search for nearby events, from your local dog shows and charity fun days to themed parties and nights out.
The Story of Dog Furiendly
Founder of Dog Furiendly, Adele Pember started the website after struggling to find places to take her dog, Charlie.
Charlie suffers from separation anxiety. According to research carried out by Channel Four’s Dogs: Their Secret Lives, 85% of the dogs studied showed signs of not coping when left alone.
Adele, said: “There are more than seven million dogs across the UK, who like Charlie who find being without their owner incredibly difficult. Many dog owners find it difficult to make recreational plans outside of work with fear of leaving the dog.”
“The life of a dog is short, so being able to use a platform such as Dog Furiendly to include your dog in your plans is so special, and gives you more memories to cherish.”
“Since launching Dog Furiendly in 2018, we’ve helped so many people to find new places, our community is growing every day!”
What do our Explorers think?
Alison and her two dogs Arya and Tyree from Edinburgh.
“It’s great to walk into a shop, cafe or another establishment with confidence that you and your dog will be made welcome. I regularly search Dog Furiendly listings and read the posted reviews. Reviews are great for getting a feel of space available as my dogs aren’t small and could feel cramped in some places which are perfectly suited to our smaller doggle friends.”
Kelly and her two dogs Skye and Oscar from Glasgow.
“We take the boys everywhere with us. It’s a great tool to use, you can go onto the website and look up dog friendly places nearby. It really helps, especially when it comes to pubs/restaurants etc saves the questions “are you dog friendly” and the dreaded answer “no!”
“Hopefully with the help of the explorers and all dog lovers out there, we can make this bigger and better again! Being dog friendly should be something that is advertised more. This will all change with the help of this website!”
“The new Dog Furiendly website allows you to see all the amazing places you can go to. Also events you can take part in so that your beloved pet doesn’t have to be left out! It’s just PAWFECT”
Chelcie and Floss from South Wales.
Dog Furiendly is our go-to for days out with our dog. Searching areas is so easy and the range of activity types or services is so comprehensive that we always find something!”
“I take my dogs everywhere I go, so I use the Dog Furiendly website almost everyday! Whether I’m searching for a coffee shop, a cafe, a day out with the kids or just a new and exciting walk, I know I will easily find somewhere on Dog Furiendly, and the real-life reviews make it easy for us to decide where to go.”
“Searching for dog friendly events online can be difficult so the event search on the new website is going to bring a whole new world of fun for me and my dogs!”
Emily and her two dogs Hugo and Huxley from Norfolk.
“We love being able to pull up the website no matter where we are in the UK and finding the perfect spot for lunch or a day out – that will happily welcome us and the dogs! Saves the endless awkward asking “can I bring my dog in?” and even more awkward reversing when they say no.”
We’re always developing and taking your feedback on board which is why we’re running a brand new Prize Draw survey for dog owners to take part in. One lucky winner will win a Christmas stocking for their pooch filled with tail-wagging Christmas goodies! You can take part in this year’s survey here.
