New Owners Take On The Dog Furiendly Platform

For immediate release

After seven years of serving the dog-friendly community, Dog Furiendly was set to close its doors in October 2024. However, a new chapter begins as the platform transitions to new ownership, bringing fresh ideas and new opportunities.

Emma Johnson is the new Owner of Dog Furiendly and brings with her a wealth of experience, with a background in Marketing and Interior Photography. Emma also manages a social media account for her dogs (@TheHandsomePugs), which gives her a unique perspective on the industry.

Emma is committed to building on Dog Furiendly’s mission by expanding and improving the platform. She plans to grow the number of dog-friendly listings across the UK while ensuring they are as helpful and detailed as possible, making it even easier for dog owners to discover the best places to visit.

Emma Johnson, Owner of Dog Furiendly says: “I knew instantly that I wanted to be part of Dog Furiendly’s future. Adele (the Founder of Dog Furiendly) has built something amazing and I am incredibly excited to take the reins and build on the platform’s success”.

Call to the Community

Dog Furiendly has always been powered by its incredible community, and we’re calling on dog owners to help make the platform even better. Recommendations and reviews play a vital role in connecting fellow dog lovers with the best dog-friendly places to visit.

If you have a favourite dog-friendly café, pub, restaurant, hotel, or walking trail, we encourage you to share your experience on our platform. Your input will contribute to the continued growth and improvement of Dog Furiendly, making it an even more valuable resource for everyone… and allowing it to remain as a free to use service!

What’s Next for Dog Furiendly?

Emma has ambitious plans to enhance Dog Furiendly’s offerings (most of which we can’t give away just yet), but some of our plans include:

  • Expanding Listings – Increasing the quality and quantity of dog-friendly businesses that are featured on the platform.
  • Influencer Programme – We will soon be launching a network of passionate ‘Repawters’ to spotlight the very best dog-friendly experiences across the UK.
  • Website Enhancements – Introducing new functionalities including improved search tools, additional categories, and innovative trip-planning options.
  • Travel Tails – We are working on a YouTube channel, to showcase the best dog-friendly experiences that the UK has to offer, in long-form content.
  • Increased Event Engagement – We will be hosting the influencer tent at Dogstival and hope to attend other key events across the UK in 2025
