Located south-west of Loch Muick and on the border of Angus and Aberdeenshire, Broad Cairn rises to a height of 998m (3,274 feet) at the head of a glaciated valley to the south of Lochnagar.
Broad Cairn often features in the Angus Glens Walking Festival, which features 20 spectacular walks over four days, through breathtaking scenery, open moorland, heather-clad hills, mountains, rivers, corries and crags all guided by local Mountain Leaders and Countryside Rangers.
