Orton Mere is a lovely walk, connecting Ferry Meadows to Thorpe Meadows. It suitable for pedestrians and cyclists and boasts lakes, open spaces, footpaths and cycle paths.
The series of footpaths and off-road traffic- free cycle paths mean that you are a only short ride from the action in Ferry Meadows or a few minutes’ walk from relaxing riverside trails in Thorpe Meadows.
Orton Mere is also home to a Nene Valley Railway Station. Giving you the chance to step back in time aboard a heritage steam or diesel train and explore the wider park and surrounding area in style. Nene Valley railway welcome all well behaved dogs onto their trains but asks that they do not sit on carriage seats. There is a small charge for dogs who also get their own ticket!
