Runswick Bay is a lovely sweeping bay at the bottom of a hill in North Yorkshire (near Scarborough & Whitby). Surrounded by a quaint village and a couple of cafes and pubs to keep you going, you can explore this part of the North Yorkshire coast for hours. The opportunities for fossil hunting, walking and rock pooling make it fun for all the family. There's a small car park just up the hill from the beach.

Runswick Bay is a lovely place to visit for some fresh sea air and lots of space for Nova to run. We visited on a weekday in October 2020 and it was very quiet. Many of the surrounding cafes and pubs were shut due to the pandemic, so unfortunately we didn’t get to experience them – but there is usually a good offering according to reviews elsewhere on the Internet.
It seems to be a bit of a dog hotspot as there were many friendly pups around and even this lovely tribute to a local dog, Bramble.
