There is limited parking but it is free. There are a number of bins on the main pathway around the lake and a small childrens playground.
There are numerous walks that can be done and you can walk as little or as far as you like. You can even walk to Babbs Mill which is another local park area. There is the main field and behind this you have various paths heading to different places. You can follow the river and you may even come across what the locals call the 'doggy beach'. This is a pebbled area with shallow water for the dogs to swim and paddle in. Perfect for hot days but treacherous in the Winter. The river can raise quickly and soon become fast flowing.
I like to explore so I won't suggest a set route but there are a range of terrains from fields to overgrown grassland to woods.
There are areas where cars my surprise you so bare this in mind if your dog is off the lead. There are also herons and foxes etc. So if your dogs likes to hunt it is best to keep them attached to you. My final comment is to stay safe and don't go walking alone/at night. As in any area there have been reports of crime so always stay safe when walking your pooch. It is also worth noting that the summer months lead to a rise in off road bikers so do be cautious and avoid the area if they are on the field.
