Allt Y Coed: Dog Friendly Camping In Pembrokeshire

Hello there! I’m Duke, a lively cockapoo pup with a huge heart for adventure. I love making new friends, and sniffing out dog friendly places. I’m on a mission to explore every dog friendly nook and cranny, and Allt Y Coed Campsite in Pembrokeshire has been top-dog. We’re here to bark about how amazing dog friendly camping can be, especially in the lush landscapes of Pembrokeshire.

Is Allt Y Coed Dog-Friendly?

Yes, absolutely! Allt Y Coed is not just dog friendly; it’s a dog’s dream come true in the heart of Pembrokeshire. The campsite’s layout, the facilities, and the welcoming attitude of both the staff and the resident animals make it a pawfect place for dogs and their families to stay.

Just call me Houdini

Our adventure to Allt Y Coed began with what seemed like an endless car ride, which I initially thought was just a day out. Little did I know, it was the start of our first family holiday! After a pit stop where I attempted a daring escape to reunite with mum (earning me the nickname Houdini), my excitement for exploring Allt Y Coed in Pembrokeshire grew.

Arriving at Allt Y Coed Campsite

Upon our arrival at Allt Y Coed, a haven for dogs and their humans in Pembrokeshire, Ally Wally, the resident schnauzer, greeted us. He led us to our spacious yurt, setting the scene for our dog friendly adventure. The campsite, nestled in a working farm, offered us endless excitement with sheep, goats, horses, and even cats to meet! The generosity of the farmer, delivering wood for our campfire on his quad bike, added to the authentic camping experience. Though I was slightly envious of Ally Wally’s ride along!

Snuggling in the moonlight

Our evenings were magical. Mum and dad loved toasting marshmallows by the campfire while we snuggled under blankets, soaking in the moonlight. The visit from my Auntie and Uncle brought additional joy and cuddles, not to mention mum’s excitement over some mysterious Gin.

Walkies on the beach!

Our adventures continued with walks along the coastal path, right from the gate of Allt Y Coed. Leading to breathtaking views and memorable moments on Poppit Sands. This dog friendly beach was the perfect spot for my first off-lead run, chasing waves with Molly.

The Dog Bar and Beachside Fun

Our visit to The Ferry Inn in St Dogmaels was a highlight. With its welcoming atmosphere and a special Dog Bar for us to enjoy. Sitting in their beautiful beer garden by the river was a treat for everyone. The following days brimmed with us frolicking on the beach, indulging in cafe treats, and savouring the simple pleasures of roaming off-lead, all while wrapped in the stunning beauty of Pembrokeshire.
