Easter Egg Hunt for Dogs and Their Owners Coming to Merthyr

An Easter egg hunt for hounds is coming to Merthyr this bank holiday weekend.

Easter Egg Hunt for the whole family in collaboration with Garwnant Visitor Centre, Merthyr and Just Perfect Catering.

To set tails wagging, the woodland attraction will host three Easter egg hunts on Saturday April 20th and activities to keep the whole family entertained.

Dog treats will be hidden across the woodland park and dog owners will have a guide on hand to help sniff them out. Guides will also have human treats on hand for any children taking part. Some eggs will be marked to win special prizes like dog toys, treats and dog-friendly chocolate eggs.

After the event dogs will be treated to a bespoke Easter cake from Doggy Desserts and a themed dog show. Children taking part in the event can enter an Easter bonnet contest, enjoy craft stalls and face painting.

Founder of Dog Furiendly, Adele Pember said: “We are welcoming dogs of all shapes and sizes to be a part of this tail wagging event. Our Easter Egg Hunt was very popular last year so we’re bringing it back and this time with activities for the whole family.”

“This event will bring a bit of Easter magic and fun to those who have always wanted their furry children to enjoy the Easter holidays, just like the rest of the family.”

Louise Owens, from Just Perfect Catering, said: “We are excited to be working in partnership with Dog Furiendly at Garwnant. Everyone in the family should enjoy Easter, even our four-legged friends.”

“Garwnant is a beautiful venue, loved by families and dogs who visit all year round. We even welcome dogs into the café. It’s a space for the whole family to enjoy.”

The event will also feature various stalls and refreshments. Tickets for the hunt cost £5 per adult and can be reserved online to avoid disappointment. Hunts will take place at 10am, 12pm and 2pm.
