You’ll be quackers not to try the duck!
Where were you on the day the 2nd lockdown of 2020 was announced? Well me and the humans were enjoying a delicious dinner at the Duck and Rice for my daddy’s 30th birthday! Duck and rice believe that no pooch should be left and the door and warmly welcome pups to dine downstairs with their humans.
Luckily I am a small doggo and we got a normal height table with a bench seat for me to sit next to my mumma in my travel bag. We saw some other small doggos dining with their humans on the higher tables too which have elavated booth style seating. Do note it is fairly tight on space, so our larger four legged pals may struggle to find a cosy spot!
The restaurant has an intimate mood with low lighting and beautiful oriental decorations integrated with the original wooden pub features and impressive brass beer tanks on display as you enter.
We were spoilt for choice on the menu, with plenty of dishes for us to try despite my daddy having a shell-fish allergy. To order you simply tick the box next to what you would like to have and hand it back to your waiter. You can request the menu to complete more than once in case your humans are indecisive (like mine are!) and want to try lots of different things! Of course we had to try the namesake dish of “Duck and Rice” which was delicious as I was lucky enough to sample a bit of the duck too. There was also lots of tasty cocktails for the pawrents to have with their meal.
Whilst their website promotes that they also offer a full-stocked supply of dog treats and dog-friendly beer we weren’t actually made aware of these during our visit but we didn’t mind as the pawrents always come prepared with water and treats for me when they go out š
