Description
This is the second coffee house of that name Which has opened and is acompletely animal-free vegan café in a first for our city.
Drinks and food will be entirely plant-based at the new Northgate Street outlet, which opened on Friday (January 4 2019) although the menu won’t change at the original Bridge Street venue.
Owner Patrick White, 26, explains that a love story sparked his interest in veganism after he fell for Olivia – who is now his cake supplier.
Patrick’s homework led him to understand the benefits for the individual and the environment of not only cutting out meat – as with regular vegetarianism – but also dairy as well. Therefore this is a purely vegan coffee shop.
When it comes to coffee, oat milk replaces cow's milk and comes in a variety of flavours such as sweet or nutty to complement the different blends. With sandwiches, even sausage and bacon can be replaced with the healthier tofu alternative.
And, of course, Olivia supplies the vegan-friendly cakes.
And it will be card payments only at the new shop – partly because it makes life simpler and partly because the new £5 and £10 notes contain a trace of animal fat.
