Chester is a lovely city to visit and you can walk along the walls, alongside the river Dee or mooch around the shops. But until recently going in for a bite to eat with your hooman was a dream of every dog. Yes we were often allowed to sit outside, but for some reason our hookahs like to be in the warm so eating alFresco in the rain is a big no no for them.
Well me and my hooman had recently heard about the fact that The Mad Hatters Tea-room and Bakery welcomes dogs with open arms! Yeah, sure we though but decided to give it a go.
Wow!! What a welcome! We were shown to our seats, in the main room, not shoved into a cold space like so many places do. I was served with a lovely bowl of Adams Ale, know as water to you heathens. Plus my own plate with a selection of doggy biscuits. My hooman settled for a latte and Welsh rarebit, which I sampled some of, just to make sure it was edible you understand.
People came over to me and made a fuss, the owner even came downstairs and gave me a big cuddle. She said that dogs are always welcome and that she even brings her dogs to work with her from time to time!
The cakes in the window made my mums mouth water, I could have ate a couple easily but I need to keep my trim figure so we decided to wait until the next visit.
So all we can say is next time you are in Chester climb up onto the rows and go visit this wonderful coffee shop, you won’t regret it.
