Description
The Jamaica Inn, which is open all year round, is found high up on the wild and beautiful Bodmin Moor. They offer dog friendly accommodation, dining options and a museum offering a great insight into British smuggling.
The historic coaching house has been welcoming travellers crossing Bodmin Moor for nearly 300 years. It's full of legend, mystery and romance. The Inn was made world-famous by Daphne du Maurier's book The Jamaica Inn, a tale of smugglers, rogues and pirates turned into a film by Alfred Hitchcock starring Charles Laughton and Maureen O'Hara and more recently made into a BBC drama.
Dogs are more than welcome in the Smugglers Bar where humans can dine on a mouth-watering menu. There's also an outdoor seating area, should you want to take in the lovely views.
The pub also holds regular ghost hunts. Not for the faint-hearted though as they have recently been awarded the Stamp of Approval from the British Paranormal Association for being a genuine haunted establishment! They also host Murder Mystery Nights.
It is very dog friendly and provides easy access to lots of great dog walks on Bodmin Moor. You can even pre-order a picnic to take with you.
Dog friendly accommodation also available.
