Description
A 15th Century former coaching inn, bursting with character and charm; the general decor boasts a wealth of beams, cosy corners, amusing pictures and odd levels. We have two lounge bars, one with a large working inglenook fireplace providing a huge crackling log fire during the winter, and there are also two dining rooms, one overlooking the garden which is ideal for parties, buffets and small functions.
We have a deserved excellent reputation for serious food, Jayne’s Sunday Roast being a firm favourite and for the beer lovers we serve fine Brakspear Ales, including a regular Guest Ale along with wide selection of quality wines. The kitchen is open every day but closes on Sunday and Monday evenings. However, for parties of 8 and above we will be very happy to open the kitchen for you on Monday nights. but a minimum of 48 hours notice would be required.
