Description
This is such a great little village pub that has a fab selection of gin (no surprise that I found that out straight away!) and ales as well as some of the most amazing pies I've ever had - and I'm a northern girl, so I know good pies!
The pub is split into two halves, the bar and the restaurant. Dogs are allowed in the bar all the time, but the restaurant is usually dog free - at least whilst food is being served.
Moose and I love to come here and he always get a fuss! There is always fresh water available for dogs and, although Moose wasn't much help, they put on a cracking pub quiz!
There are three pub dogs that I know of (you can see two of them in the cover picture) and sometimes they make an appearance - although all the yellow lab wants to do is lie in-front of the fire, and who can blame her?
This is one of those places that looks like 'just another pub' on the outside but inside it's full of character, charm and excellent service.
