Description
Part of the Everards pub chain, The Marquis Wellington has been a safe haven for real ale lovers all over the city for many many years. Beautifully decorated inside and out, it sits in a historic building on Leicester's busy London Road. With dog-friendly pubs in this area at a minimum, this place is a great stop-off if you find yourself near the city's train station, or are taking the pooch out for a walk in Victoria Park.
It serves great food daily, with a menu full of small and large plates, and a sunday roast menu at the weekend. There's a huge range of weird and wonderful beers and ales to choose from too, as well as a massive wine list. There's seating at the front and back, with heated area and smoking huts at the back. In the summer, this place is a great sun trap, so bring a newspaper and relax for an hour in the sunshine.
There's on road parking directly in front, and around the corner near De Montfort Hall, both looked after by parking meters from Monday to Saturday. It's free on Sundays though. Dogs are welcome inside and out, as long as their owners behave themselves!
