Fur-ever home appeal for the gorgeous Benjamin

Fur-ever home appeal for the gorgeous Benjamin

This gorgeous pooch Benjamin will be joining RSPCA Cymru at #BIGWalkiesLIVE on June 10th, looking for his fur-ever home!

He’s a beauty that’s for sure!

Sadly Benjamin has not had a single person interested in him since he has been at RSPCA Newport Animal Centre.

Although the 10-year-old cross type dog certainly has one special fan – after being lucky enough to meet RSPCA Cymru’s VIP supporter Matt Johnson, ahead of the animal welfare charity’s BIG Walkies LIVE event on 10 June. He even appeared in Matt’s Instagram stories!

The BIG Walkies

Benjamin will be attending the event and looking for his fur-ever home. The BIG Walkies is a scenic 2.5-mile (4km) or 1.25mile (2km) walk in Bute Park on Sunday 10th June for your fluffy pal to enjoy alongside hundreds of poochie pals. Sophia Gardens will be hosting plenty of entertainment too, including refreshments, stalls, merchandise, music and more.

How do we book?

The last day of sign up is Thursday, June 7th, so register your pooch today. Entry costs £5 and there’s a host of bonus goodies for participants, including a wristband, t-shirt, bandana for dogs, a dog cuddly toy for children, stickers and even a poo bag!

More about Benjamin!

Deputy manager at Newport Animal Centre, Kath Logan, said Benjamin came into RSPCA care after his owner sadly passed away.

“Benjamin is a beautiful boy with a loving temperament,” said Kath. “Once he gets to know you, Benjamin loves to say hello and get fuss and cuddles off you. He enjoys spending his time playing in the paddock and socialising with other dogs and is even fond of being groomed.

“We know Benjamin is going to absolutely LOVE BIG Walkies LIVE on June 10 and will really enjoy sniffing about in the park and meeting lots of people and their beloved dogs.

“Although we do hope that within three weeks, we will have found a perfect owner for Benjamin and we hope he would be coming along to BIG Walkies LIVE with a new owner instead!”

Benjamin could potentially be rehomed to live with another dog after a successful introduction, but would be looking for a cat free home and would be suited to a home where he has company for the majority of the time.

If you would like to express an interest in Benjamin please contact RSPCA Newport Animal Centre via 0300 123 0744. The centre is based on Hartridge Farm Road in Newport.
