5 Tips to Get Your Dog Friendly Business Seen This Summer!

Summer is well and truly in full swing, which means dog owners are ready and raring to take the dog out for the day, or even on a mini-break in the UK.

With so much competition within the hospitality industry, getting seen above the noise is key for summer success. Summertime is a huge opportunity to increase your revenue, double your dog-owning customers with these easy to do tips.

1. Photos

Get your camera out and photograph all your business’ best bits. The summer drinks, those mouth-watering burgers, those classic cakes and…  those fluffy four-legged friends that you welcome through the door!

2. Summer Dishes

When you create a special summertime menu, don’t forget to tell people about it online and through social media. Perhaps get the audience involved in picking a new dish for the menu?

To capitalise on your revenue, think about buying in some refreshing dog treats for the pooch to enjoy. Things like Frozzy’s, Billy and Margot Frozen Treats or Woof and Brew Pawsecco Freeze Pops!

3. Get Social

The British weather is TOTALLY unpredictable. Will the summer continue to be a scorcher or is there snow on the way? Whatever the weather, dog owners will be looking to bask in the sunshine or hide from the rain so let them know what your business has to offer their furry pupper.

Do you have a garden, sun terrace or even a nice shaded terrace? Is the inside of your venue nice and cool, does it have a cold floor? Or is it air-conditioned? Things like this are super important and can sometimes be the deciding factor for their visit.

4. Be Easy to Find

Local dog friendly businesses can be difficult for dog owners to find, so get ahead of the competition and place your business in different places. Get a free listing on Dog Furiendly, Google My Business and make sure you’re all over TripAdvisor.

Also, information is key. It’s not enough to tell people the basics of your business – you have to tell them exactly what you’re offering. Don’t forget the important keywords people are searching for such as ‘dog friendly’ ‘wheelchair accessible’ ‘vegan’ etc.

5. Yappy Hour

If you have day’s or nights that are slower than others, the consider making a ‘yappy hour’, where anyone who brings a dog in gets a special discount or offer. Perhaps you could throw in a cheeky sausage for the dog too!
