  • What is a Listing?

A listing is a dog friendly place or business. It contains the location, details, dog owner ratings, reviews and photos. It may also contain responses to dog owners reviews.

Anyone can add a new listing, dog owners, dog lovers, business owners, business managers or representatives - and yes it’s completely FREE! Businesses can also claim listings added by Dog Furiendly or the general public.

By claiming your listing, you can accurately represent your business by keeping it up-to-date and being able to respond live to feedback and reviews. Read 'Why claim my business?’ to find our more.

  • What kind of places does Dog Furiendly list?

Before you submit your request, please be sure that the place or business that you want to list meets our guidelines. If it does then click here to submit your free listing.

  • Why was my listing rejected?

Listings can be rejected for various reasons. Here are some of the common reasons why:

    • The listing already exists on the website.
    • The listing doesn’t meet our guidelines (read 'What kind of places does Dog Furiendly list?' for more info).
    • Insufficient information online to verify the business and unable to find with a simple Google search.
    • Lack of content or too many grammatical errors within the listing.
  • How do I report inaccurate listing information, let you know if a business is not dog friendly?

If you notice that information about a listing is missing or inaccurate, please let us know but clicking report under (this can be found below and to the right of the cover image). By doing this you’re helping the next dog owner to understand that place a little better.

Information that is helpful for us to know:

    • The listing is not dog friendly
    • The listing is only part dog friendly
    • The listing is a duplicate of another listing
    • The listing has closed permanently
    • The listing does not exist

Owner of the business and don’t have access to the listing? Please click the claim now button at the bottom of the listing.

Owner of the business and have access to your listing? Visit your dashboard to change or update information on your listing.

  • How do I report that a listings has now closed or moved location?

There’s nothing worse than rolling up to a dog friendly place that no longer exists. So if you know a listing is now closed or moved, please let us know via report in the menu on the listing menu.

If permanently closed, this listing will be immediately removed from our site (unless it is owned by a business and needs to be verified).

If reported as temporarily closed for renovations or seasonal closure, this listing will be temporarily hidden on the website, and marked as temporarily closed.

If reported with a new address, we will either contact the manager of the listing to verify and update the address on the original listing.

If reported to have a new name at the same address, the listing will be removed from our site and if it continues to be dog friendly a new listing will have to be submitted.

  • 3.Review Guidelines
  • What is a review?

A review is a written opinion of your experience within a dog friendly venue listed on the website. Reviews allow dog owners to share their opinions of that place. We encourage you to write honestly so that other dog owners can get an idea of what to expect and whether or not to visit the place.

You can review with a score out of five for Dog Friendliness, Space and Service (1 being the lowest and 5 being the highest). Please bare in mind our review guidelines while writing your opinion on the dog friendly venue. We also have to remind you that writing a review is free – and you do not get paid for this. Reviews are what helps the dog community make decisions!

Once you submit a review, it will take around 24-48 hours to be approved as long as it meets the guidelines. This process may take longer depending on if it gets flagged by the team.

Once published, reviews will stay on our site indefinitely. Reviews may occasionally be removed, particularly if it violates our guidelines. You can also report an inappropriate review.

  • If I write a review, can the business contact me about it?

This depends on whether or not the listing was created by the business. If it hasn’t been claimed or created by a business and was added by a member of the community, then the business may not see your review. A member of the community who created the listing, may comment back to say thank you or to ask for further details to help dog owners with their decisions on visiting.

If it has been claimed or created by a business, then they may choose to comment back on the review. Business owners, management or representatives may comment to thank them, ask for feedback or make attempts to resolve customer service issues. They must not ask reviewers to remove a review, and harassment of reviewers is strictly prohibited.

It is against our privacy policy to share anyones e-mail address or any personal information with anyone including those leaving reviews. If you use your real name or Instagram name as part of your username (e.g. JamesJenkins) or your display name, the business you review may be able to figure out who you are. They will also be able to see any information you put on your profile. We would recommend using your dogs descriptive name in the username to make the account less obvious (e.g. TailsinWales). Make the account about your dog and have fun with it!

For more information on our Privacy Policy, click here.

  • If I write a review, can other dog owners see it?

Yes, dog owners will be able to comment, like and share any reviews posted on our website. They will also be able to see any information you put on your profile. For more information on our Privacy Policy, click here.

  • What is the Like button?

The like button is a feature on the reviews that allows you to interact with other members of the community. The likes are anonymous, but help to reaffirm other members reviews which in turn helps dog owners to make more informed decisions on whether to visit or not.

  • Why isn't my review posted yet?

If it adheres to our Review Guidelines they are published within 24-48 hours.
If it is flagged it’s usually because we’ve spotted something that may breach our guidelines. In this case it can take time to process.

As a free service for dog owners, we do our best to manage publishing speed. If a review includes personal attacks or language that is not family-friendly, anything that breaches the Review Guidelines, it will be immediately removed.

See 'Guidelines for Reviews’ for more information.

  • Will my review ever be on other web sites or publications?

A published review, becomes the property of Dog Furiendly. We may use reviews on some in promotional materials. It may also be shared by businesses who you have left the review for.

For more information, see our Terms of Use and Privacy Policy.

  • Can I edit my review after I’ve submitted it?

You can edit a review and scores after submission by heading to the three dot dropdown menu to the right hand side. You may also choose to delete the review and resubmit it with changes.

  • Guidelines for Reviews

We want Dog Furiendly to be a safe and trustworthy source for dog owners who are looking for dog friendly places to eat, sleep and enjoy. We encourage you to leave honest reviews on the website that will help other dog owners, but to abide by our guidelines.

    Non-Commercial
We won’t accept any reviews that contain any promotional links, links to products, or content solely included for promotional purposes.

    Your Opinion
Reviews should be from your own personal opinion and not from any individuals or entities who own or are affiliated with the business. Reviews submitted in an attempt to blackmail a listing or to target competing establishments will not be published. If you suspect a review is fake you can use the “Report” feature located to the three dot menu to the right of each review.

    Dog Owners
Keep your reviews relevant and helpful to dog owners. Remember that dog owners will be reading your review to help them with their decision to visit. Try to provide them with first hand information about your experience. Is it suitable for smaller or bigger dogs? Do they offer fresh water? Treats? Any dog products or services that stand out? Please don’t include any rumors, quotes from other sources or reviews, personal opinions including wider social issues, religious or political views.

    Family Friendly
Keep written content PG and try to avoid any vulgar comments or swearing.

    Photo Guidelines
You can also add photos to your reviews, so here's a few guidelines to bare in mind.

    Please ensure:

    • Photos are not blurry, dark, or distorted (upside down, squashed or sideways). Photos should show off the venue (and your dog) in a way that is helpful for other dog owners.
    • Photos fall in line with our family-friendly policies, we do not allow photographs that include graphic violence, pornographic or vulgar content. We will reject anything not appropriate for our community.
