Calm Acre Cabin

Sometimes you just need to get off-grid to get your soul right. Calm Acre Cabin is the perfect place to do that. Immerse yourself in nature, have a digital detox, take life back to the simple things; sit beside a fire pit, sip wine in a cosy outdoor shelter, swing in a hammock listening to the river, do yoga in the grass, read a book in an orthopeadic bed, have a morning brew on the decking with fresh flowers or explore local hidden footpaths and amazing views. A completely enclosed and private acre for you (and your dog) to be free and just breathe in natures goodness 🙂

The space
The cabin has been designed with your complete well-being in mind, to rest, relax and rejuvenate in the beautiful Welsh border countryside. Switch off your phone for your time here (bring a portable phone charger if you can't resist!) and instead listen to the sounds of birds and flowing river - have the break you truly deserve. The cabin is 'off-grid' so it has mains water but no mains electricity - everything is battery or gas-powered but you won't even notice when you get here - everything you need is catered for and with liveability in mind.

The bed has a double orthopaedic mattress (no bad backs here!) and a selection of things to enjoy; books, hiking recommendations, yoga mats, hammocks, candles, cookware, dinnerware, blankets, dog bed & bowl, picnic blanket and basket, gas heater, hot water bottles, etc - all you will need is clothes and food/drink. Tea, coffee, oat milk, bottled water and welsh cakes are provided and a double camping stove with a large grill/hot plate to cook up in the storm.

If it's a chillier/wetter day you have the addition of The Wood Cwtch, an outdoor sheltered area filled with a cosy outdoor sofa and chair, warm blankets, marshmallow skewers, solar lights, yoga mats, magazines, games, and a fire pit to keep you warm - all logs, kindling and firelighters provided!

The outdoor (but private and sheltered) shower and toilet are situated just next to the cabin with hot water, fluffy towels and eco toiletries and also contains the washing up area with a fold down sink and draining board with washing up liquid and sponges too.

You have an entire fenced-off and secure acre all to yourself, perfect for dogs to roam free in. The acre also contains 2 sunny deck chairs, two lazy hammock, a large table and bench for outdoor dining, a bistro set on the decking, private access to the River Arrow and uninterrupted views for sunrises/sunsets and a sky full of stars at night amid the twinkling solar lights all around the cabin!

On from the acre are countless footpaths to explore with the famous Offa's Dyke Path just a short walk away as well as the Black Mountains, Brecon Beacons and the Wye valley for all your canoeing and paddlesboarding needs and 10 minutes away is Hay-on-Wye - voted the prettiest town in Wales and famous for it's bookshops, independant shops, food and markets!

Guest access
Parking is directly outside the cabin within a large gated field - your car is safe here and easy for packing/unpacking your things. If it has been very wet weather to avoid your car getting stuck there is additional safe parking just a 30 second walk away and a luggage trolley/wheelbarrow for your luggage.
