In the village of Maesycwmmer is a lovely little woodland walk.
You drive through the village up to the community centre, where there is free parking, and you’ll see the gate to the walk.
When you start there is a pretty little woodland walk and half way up on your left is an opening to a field. The field is old rugby pitches, so no livestock to worry about, just two huge open spaces for your pooch to run around.
The walk itself doesn’t take very long but you can spend hours throwing a ball on the field. The walk does continue onto a quarry through the trees, but you might meet some livestock on route (just as a warning).
I’m lucky enough to live within walking distance of this walk, but if you love in the local area I’d recommend it as it’s a great space for your dog to run around and makes a lovely change from just pavement walks.
