Derwent Dam is one of the attractions of the Peak District. There is a large walk which leads you to the larger LadyBower Reservoir or there are some shorter walks which you can do around Derwent Reservoir.
The area is steeped in history and has some amazing views.
There are several places to park on the roadside, or there is a car park which charges a small fee for parking but also has toilet facilities and a small cafe where you can grab a quick snack or drink.
Dogs have to be be on a lead between March and July due to the high amount of nesting wildlife in the area but they can still enjoy a great walk and a explore a new area!
There are no waste bins after the car park so make sure that you go prepared!
