As you pass the original stone gatehouse and journey along the tree-lined drive, between open fields, Norton House, Edinburgh hotel creates a striking first impression: an elegant blend of the classic and the contemporary.
Originally owned by the Ushers, the family behind Glenlivet Whisky and the Ushers Brewery, the house still has the appearance of a private country home. But, like one of the family’s finest malts, it has improved with age. As well as historic features, it is now a place of stylish dining, advanced business technology and 21st century comforts.
This 1840 hotel is a romantic Scottish wedding venue and one of the best meeting venues in Edinburgh, thanks to its location, 5 minutes from Edinburgh Airport and 20 minutes from the city centre, and its tailored, all inclusive packages. Set alongside our hotel there is the Norton House Health Club & Spa, making it perfect for weekend breaks in Scotland and a great place to work out, relax or unwind.
And if your perfect experience includes your canine companion we'll be pleased to welcome you with our dog friendly breaks.

I have walked here throughout lockdown in their extensive grounds with my dog. There is plenty of space to move around safely and lots of sniffs for the dogs. They have a pawstop, which will remain even after lockdown with water bowls, balls and sticks for the doggies to use.
Dogs are also welcome in the bar and lounge areas, although not the restaurant or health club and spa. There are also dog friendly bedrooms if you are coming to stay for a break.
