If you arrive before 10am then parking at Southerndown is free. There is the pebble beach to walk, or to your left is a beautiful countryside walk and some old castle ruins.
Plenty of pubs nearby that are dog friendly and public toilets to use just across from the car park.
Seasonable beach bans apply.

The Welsh coast path where Indie can zoomie in sand and water all day long. This beach is such a hidden gem and you can see this as it is well looked after. There is a smaller pebble beach which is known as “Dunraven Bay” seems to be the most popular on our visit on the weekend next to the car park which costs £3 or a car park further up the road managed by the Bridgend Council is £6. There was a handful of dogs when we attended but is suitable for a doggy walk! (There is a ban in for dogs on the beach between 31st May – 20th September).
If you continue to follow the beach you will end up in Monk Nash bay which is a 2.9 mile walk from Dunraven bay which you can safely get back up onto the open countryside on top of the cliff which has a costal path with amazing views out to the sea. You should take Care take care when walking up on the cliff as there are no safety barriers and despite this being an all-day walk with Indie loving the openness of the beach and fields you must be careful with the tide, as if the tide comes in you’re surrounding by enclosed cliffs.
There are few facilities as mentioned a car park, toilets, benches and just a short walk into the village there’s pubs which are dog friendly.
We can’t wait to go back here for a day out in the summer with a lovely picnic however I would suggest wearing appropriate walking footwear if you’re planning on going down onto the larger beach.
