The Borrowdale Hotel

The Borrowdale is a country hotel tucked beneath Shepherds Crag, just a stone’s throw from Derwentwater and ten minutes from Keswick. Set in the heart of the Lake District, it's the kind of place where boots dry by the fire and dogs stretch out beside them. Step straight from the door into ancient woodland, lakeshore rambles, and open fell — all within nose-sniffing distance. Dogs are very welcome, and you’ll find water bowls and beds at the ready, biscuits behind the bar, and plenty of dog-friendly spaces indoors and out.
