Gorgeous little corner of the Lakes

Lovely pub in the Lake District that we have been to a few times and dogs are just as welcome inside as they are outside! We chose to sit outside on our most recent visit, to soak up some rays, as it was an absolute sun trap. The boys had a lovely snooze in the sun to rest their tired legs after bagging another Wainwright up Barrow Fell and Stile End Fell while the humans enjoyed a shandy and really tasty food! Will definitely be back as it's perfectly placed right at the bottom of some of our favourite Lake District walks 😊

    Muddy Paws and Boots Welcome

After a long 5 hour walk up Causey Pike and down Barrow the humans were feeling a little exhausted. At the last leg of the decent just when everyone was about to give up, a sign appeared from the gods that read ‘muddy paws and boots welcome, cold Guinness and homemade pies, walkers portions’
The pace quickened and we followed the sign to the Coledale Inn. We thoroughly enjoyed every minute of it and have been back through the seasons. Perfect after a wintery walk with traditional pub food and a warming hot chocolate. Also great after a sunny summer walk, it has a lovely large beer garden with spectacular views over Skiddaw and Keswick- a perfect spot for a refreshing pint!
The dogs loved it, almost every person has a four legged friend with them. Also good for children to run around and play. Fresh water avaliable for dogs and treats on the bar for them. Staff were friendly and after speaking to some people who were staying in the hotel with their dogs they said how welcoming and dog friend the hotel was.
    Well worth a visit!
