A traditional village pub and former 1780’s coaching Inn, located next to St John the Baptist church, known as the Cathedral of the Peak.
Surrounded by the Peak District, there are plenty of sightseeing opportunities and scenic walks.
A warm and friendly welcome awaits, as well as some fantastic entertainment nights planned throughout the year.
Four delightfully presented en-suite rooms all offering bed & breakfast are also available, although we didn’t stay there and unsure if they are dog friendly.
Good selection of food available for lunch and evening meals, although check website as only served on certain days and times.

We had a short stay in the area just before November 2020 lockdown started (in fact we were sat in this pub as it was announced!)
We’d picked the area as it was fairly close to home, given the uncertainty at the time and the choice of dog friendly pubs in walking distance to accommodation.
Harper was welcomed and there were a few other dogs in there (mainly locals) Good pub grub, and a nice local pub atmosphere. I’d just say check website if wanting to eat, as they don’t serve food everyday.
