Originally built in the 1600's as a farmhouse, the Royal Oak was later converted to farm workers cottages. Around the 1850's it received a licence to become a beerhouse. Nearly 160 years later this attractive thatched pub with its stone walls, flag stone floors and solid oak beams serves more than beer!
There is also a large car park and a spacious patio which makes this the ideal family pub.
Having run a successful pub in Northamptonshire for 6 years, Ian & Bex have relocated to Somerset, with their young family as tenants at The Royal Oak in Over Stratton. Ian's vast experience as a chef & Bex's hospitable & professional manner front of house, combine to offer customers at The Royal Oak a great experience, whether just dropping in for a swift pint & a bag of crisps or enjoying a full 3 course dining extravaganza. They are supported by their enthusiastic & friendly team, all locally sourced! Along with his owners, pub dog Alfie will give a warm welcome to both 2 and 4 legged customers.
