The Tin Shed is a beautiful glamping hut nestled in the heart of Speyside, Scotland. It is built in the style of a mountain bothy, with a roaring wood-burning stove and luxurious en-suite bathroom. The hut is situated in an orchard with views of the surrounding countryside and a millpond. WiFi, bed linen, towels, and a basket of wood per day are all supplied free of charge.
The Tin Shed is perfect for a romantic getaway or a family holiday. It is located within walking distance of the Moray coast, with its stunning beaches, castles, and great walks. There are also over 40 whisky distilleries within a 30-minute drive. The local area is also a great place to spot wildlife, with red squirrels, red deer, pine martens, osprey, and dolphins commonly seen. One well-behaved dog is welcome.
The Tin Shed is a unique and charming place to stay, offering guests the opportunity to experience the beauty of the Scottish countryside in comfort and style.
The Tin Shed is surrounded by fields that at different times of the year are full of sheep, cattle or malting barley. A vintage railway runs in the valley below and you can hail a train from the local ‘halt’, a five minute walk from your door.
Speyside is famous for producing some of the best whisky in the world and enjoys a lovely dry(ish!!) climate due to the natural rain barrier of the Cairngorm Mountains National Park to the south. The area is rich in history with atmospheric castles, Pictish sites and ancient battlefields. It is a sportspersons paradise with every taste catered for from shooting and cycling to surfing and skiing. The nearby River Spey draws fishermen from all over the world, keen to bag a genuine wild Scottish salmon. But our favourite attraction is the miles and miles of empty beaches where we often see dolphins and which are just as enjoyable on a sunny winter’s day.
The nearest shops and supermarket are in the small town of Keith, five miles away. Interesting antique shops and craft shops are around 20 minutes away.
