Details
We're lucky enough to call the Victoria Park our local, so we thought we'd share this lovely pub with you, and we hope you enjoy it as much as we do.
For Puppers
You're sure to be greeted with smiles and fuss, from the bar staff as soon as you walk in (and often from other customers too). The first stop for me is usually the water bowl by the bar, or one of several outside while the weather has been hot. There is a great tiered beer garden with awesome views out over south Bristol, but pups are equally welcome inside. I’ve spent many an evening on my settle mat inside while my pawrents have dinner or fail miserably at the pub quiz!
For the hoomans
Food is available daily, with a great gastro-pub menu, a dedicated pizza kitchen, plus an awesome Sunday lunch (booking is highly recommended).
Pizza's are also available to take-away, along with a selection of drinks. Mum would like to recommend the #2 pizza, while dad favours a #6 (with jalapeños) - enjoy!
Besides being an all round great pub the VP also offers a weekly steak night (Monday) and a fortnightly pub quiz (Tuesday - check the website for dates), with a play-doh round which is guaranteed hilarity. This tends to be popular so worth booking to be on the safe side.
Local area
Once you’ve eaten your fill why not take a wander over to the park from which the pub takes its name. Victoria Park is a large city park barely a 2-minute walk from the pub, perfect if like me, your four-legged friend is in need of a pre or post-pub runaround.
With plenty of walking routes, wooded areas and open grassy spaces, the park offers an excellent area for zoomies and romps. I also pretty much always find several like-minded furry friends to play with - if you’re looking for socialisation opportunities.
The park offers a great children's playground, football pitch and mini-basketball court so any tiny hoomans can be entertained too. Otherwise, take a seat on one of the well-maintained benches and take in the view - you might even see a hot air balloon flying overhead (pretty common during summer)!
If you’re planning a visit give us a shout, we’d love to show you the sites, and go for a play in the park!
