We love Whinlatter.
The cafe allows dogs outside and there’s a shop if you need anything and you can pick up a map of the waymarked trails. These are good for both biking, hiking and running – if you and your furry pal enjoy any of those. Also has a playground and trails designed for children too.
Starting from the centre it can be a little busy but it’s normally pretty quiet out on the trails and there are some lovely ones – easy strolls and some more challenging hilly hikes, with a chance of seeing red squirrels too.
Also has a Parkrun on a Saturday morning if you enjoy those – one dog welcome with each person for a lovely 5k trail run!

There’s a Go Ape on site, plenty of sculptures to find and a scattering of playparks for the little ones. In good weather, you could easily make a day of it.
Dogs are not allowed into the visitors centre, shop or cafe (there is outdoor seating available where dogs are allowed)
