Snuggled by the sea in Felpham village, you can find the Beachcroft Hotel. Comfortable and cosy accommodation, just a bone’s throw away from the sea and town of Bognor Regis. Canine companions are loved throughout their stay and this lovely hotel always goes above and beyond to ensure they have a great holiday too.
We were invited to stay at this lovely hotel and from the moment we stepped out of the car, our pooches were living the dream. Daily walks and playtime on the beach, free doggy ice-cream and plenty of fun in-between. We had a great holiday at the Beachcroft Hotel and our tails are wagging to share it with you.

Breath of Fresh Air
When we pulled up at the Beachcroft Hotel and stepped out of the car, we immediately felt relaxed. The sound of the waves crashing on the shore and breath of fresh, salty sea air gave us a sense of tranquillity. Something I think we could all use after such a stressful year.
We couldn’t wait to see the sea, and with just a hop, skip and jump we were on Felpham beach. Minnie and Charlie’s sniffers were tingling with excitement, and they couldn’t wait to have zoomies on the beach. From May to September there are restrictions on the beach, but the dog friendly part of the beach is just a short walk along the pier.
The beach is shingle, but the tide pulls back to reveal a gorgeous sandy stretch. In their element, both Minnie and Charlie spent a good hour playing together in the sand and chasing the waves. Living their best life.
When Minnie decided it was time to take a little rest, we strolled back to the hotel to check-in, excited for the rest of our adventures.
As we arrived at the hotel, we were welcomed by a friendly smile which made us feel instantly at home. We were told how things worked under the new normal which made us feel at ease. This was shortly followed by all the in’s and out’s to enjoy at the hotel. Given our room number, we headed to the room, to settle and relish in our relaxing stay.
Comfy Accommodation
Each hotel room is designed to offer guests a comfortable stay, complete with everything you need. There are two dog friendly rooms in the hotel, both on the ground floor with their very own private garden terrace.
The room we stayed in, had all basic bits including Wi-Fi, TV, alarm clock, tea/coffee facilities and complimentary toiletries. But the best part was the whopping big King Double. We flopped on the bed and completely sank into the mattress, wondering if we could just stay there for the rest of the year.
The dogs were also in for a treat, with their very own beds (though they love to share), bandanas, toys, snacks, water and food bowls. Minnie was thrilled with her toys, playing with the frisbee all afternoon. Charlie on the other hand was happier to see the bed, after his run along the beach. We especially loved vouchers we received for a free dog and human ice-cream at Pinks Parlour!
Food & Drink
After sinking in the bed, we whiled away so many hours then realised our table reservation was minutes away! Fortunately that table reservation was just a few footsteps away from the room.
We headed to the restaurant and were shown to our dog friendly table in the bar area. Both the bar and restaurant had an inviting and relaxing atmosphere. The bar had a lighter tone to the restaurant with music and an inviting fireplace.
Once again dogs were given a warm welcome of fuss, complete with a fresh bowl of water to settle them into the evening. Our dogs snuggled cosily under the tables to have a big ole snooze, while we continued to give our food order. We were even asked if our dog’s wanted dinner too. Of course, we couldn’t say no (Minnie would never forgive us)!
Damian Czerny is the head chef of the restaurant, providing a menu full of character and mouth-watering dishes. We ordered the Italian Chicken and Sirloin Steak, both brilliant meals filling our bellies nicely for the night.
We could also enjoy breakfast in the same Bistro in the morning serving up tasty breakfast dishes including a fantastic full English. They even gave Minnie and Charlie their own bowl of sausages!
What to Do
You don’t need to venture too far to enjoy a fun-filled afternoon with the pooch! This wonderful place is just steps away from the beach, and just around the corner is a great dog friendly cafe called The Lobster Pot.
Once you’re done on the beach, the Beachcroft even provide a Doggy Station, where you can hose and wash down those sandy paws. On-site they’ve thought of plenty of little details to help you while away the hours by the sea. Including giant chess, deckchairs to hire and a small covered seating pod to snuggle up and take in the sea views. If one of you can take care of the dogs, you can also book in some time in the on-site swimming pool.
A 20-minute walk along the pier will take you into Bognor Regis town. Alternatively you can head to Bognor Regis town by taking another scenic route through Hotham Park.
Hotham Park
These tranquil nine hectares of land come complete with a conservation area, arboretum, boating pond, putting green and crazy golf course. Outside of the pandemic, the bandstand located in an idyllic glade hosts events. There is also a miniature railway that travels around the park, pulled by “Boris” the steam engine.
Pinks Parlour
One of the highlights of our trip was definitely the trip to Pinks Parlour. This dog friendly dessert parlour is located on the Bognor Regis promenade with a range of mouth-watering dishes to choose from.
They provide free doggy ice-cream for Beachcroft guests. We loved this added touch and couldn’t wait to cash it in. While our furry pals slurped on a doggy ice-cream, we tucked into a Biscoff and Killer-mint-jaro Waffle! Utter bliss.
South Downs National Park
From coast to country, the South Downs National Park isn’t too far away and offers some of the most picturesque views in the South of England.
There’s a large range of dramatic chalk hills for brisk walls with the pooch, and rolling downs covered with verdant grassland.
There are also many prehistoric flint mines and Bronze and Iron Age forts throughout the range for you to explore. For a nearby dog friendly attraction, discover the ruins of Boxgrove Priory. This ruined priory was founded in about 1107, originally for just three monks. Nestled in the South Downs, the remains include a fine two-storey guest house, roofless but standing to its full height at the gable ends.
Our Verdict
Spending time at the Beachcroft Hotel, allowed us to truly switch off. We were able to give our dogs a holiday jam-packed with walks from the coast to the countryside. We loved the welcome pack, and the hotel truly went and beyond for our pooches.
The accommodation gave both us and the dogs the most comfortable snooze, the dogs instantly felt at home. This place offered a wonderful break jam-packed with plenty of British seaside charm. We left this place with two tuckered pooches and two very waggy tails.
