Small Dog Businesses To Support on Prime Day
No effort is too small when it comes to helping out the community. This ideology is one we have always stood by, and one that is important now more than ever.
Over the last few months, small businesses have been hit the hardest. They’re not out of the woods yet, and the road ahead set to be challenging. Especially, with Christmas around the corner.
Our tails were wagging with excitement to hear Amazon acknowledge the issues small businesses are facing. To support small businesses, Amazon is offering incentives for shoppers on the run-up to Prime Day that will bolster some of the small businesses who utilise the platform.
What is Prime Day?
Prime Day is an annual flash sale run by Amazon offering a price reduction on a range of products for 24-48 hours. You’re sure to find plenty of dog goodies during this time. Keep your eyes peeled at the ‘pet supplies’ category.
The best part? From now until October 12, spending £10 on select small business products will earn you a £10 credit to spend on Amazon Prime Day (13th/14th October).
There are thousands of eligible small business products in a raft of different departments. We’ve sifted through the dog-related goodies and picked out some of our top-dog favourites. We’re calling it paw-rime month.
Umm I don’t have Prime…
Yet to become an Amazon Prime member but want to get in on the action? Sign up for a 30-day trial to gain access to the sale.
You won’t be charged for the trial period, but you will need to pop in your card details. If you decide to cancel ahead of the trial, then you won’t be charged, which means you can get free access to the Prime Day event. You’ll also get access to plenty of other goodies including Amazon Prime TV!
12 Businesses To Suppawt For Your Prime Day Bonus
Bowzos
Bowzos has a huge selection of collars, bows and leads on Amazon, each lovingly handmade. These one-of-a-kind products are made with Harris Tweed fabric, authentically produced in the Outer Hebrides of Scotland.
What makes these products even more enticing, is that they are truly ecologically, biodegradable, non-allergenic with an energy-efficient manufacture. Our favourite is the product in ‘Dog Furiendly’ green, but we’re also a fan of the citrus yellow collar and lovely black Stewart tartan.
Happy Paws
Okay, so we are slightly obsessed with Happy Paws. These beautiful, illustrated little tags are made by a small family business in Walsall.
Deck-out your pooches collar with a personalised dog tag, each is artfully engraved with a variety of scenes. We love the outdoor adventure scene because we’re a sucker for adventure, but there are plenty of styles to match your dog’s name or personality.
They are made to suit any breed or size, coming in a range of sizes, and the choice of copper, brass or steel. Unlike other tags (which get scratched or worn quickly), these offer long-lasting durability. You can even get further details engraved on the back.
Perfect product to buy ready for your Prime Day bonus!
Manta Makes
Now, this is a mug we can all get behind! How many times have you spotted a hair after getting halfway through your cuppa? This lovely business lovingly designs all their wonderful products in the New Forest.
This not only makes a great gift for someone else but an even better gift for yourself, which you deserve after a long hard year!
Ingrained Inc
Sorry, we’ve gone and done it. Dropped the C-bomb (and we don’t mean coronavirus). Yes Christmas! Preparing for the season of cheer is the perfect way to spend your pre-Prime Day dollar.
This is the perfect personalised bauble to get for your tree this year. These lovely bones are lovingly handmade by Lauren (sometimes Matt) in a small village in Aberdeenshire.
Ingrained Inc produce a wonderful range of personalised, awesome and functional gifts, but this one was our favourite! Question is, has your dog been naughty or nice?
Ivy Apparel
This place knows us all too well. Damn right we have plans with our dogs, and that usually means cuddling up on the sofa with Netflix. These personalised tote bags are created by a small business in Hull. You can completely personalise the colour and text to whatever suits you best.
Usually, they spend their time creating gorgeous goodies for hen parties and brides. However, they’re a little obsessed with dinosaurs, sealife and pets – so of course, they’re going to be given the spotlight from time to time.
Chester & Cooke
Chester & Cooke is a wonderful small business, based in lovely Cambridgeshire. Their aim is to add a touch of country living to your home and boy oh boy do they deliver. We love these personalised wooden, lead hooks.
It’s sure to compliment your hall way, utility or wherever your leads dangle. You can choose the number of hooks and you can choose options such as walkies, leads or dog coats. Alterniveitly you can pay extra to get something personalised engraved.
The head dog here, (or chief of barketing) is Chester the Jack Russell. He captures the brand perfectly and you’ll find him donning the products with his cheeky little face.
Vintage Apple Crates
This family-trading business is located in the heart of Canterbury. They’ve been re-purposing rustic apple crates and bulk bins from their fruit trade for over 80 years.
They make a wide range of products, including fitted shelf units, wedding signs and flower boxes. But our favourite has to be the dog beds. Each of which is handmade from a genuinely used apple crate. Better yet, the dog beds are not treated with any wood finishes, so if your pooch likes to lick or chew there won’t be any chemicals from the wood to be concerned about.
This makes a great rustic addition to any home and can be personalised with your pooches name for the pawfect finish.
Mugged Write Off
If the name wasn’t good enough, then the products certainly are. The lovely Nadina from Mugged Write Off creates a range of personalised products in Wells.
Nadina always struggled to find her name on any of the personalised keyring racks. Now she aims to make sure that no name goes unnoticed with a fantastic range for both humans and our canine companions.
These wonderful dog bowls come in a range of sizes, font colours and a personalised name to make your pooch feel truly special.
Paper Amor
We love these pretty, personalised prints from Paper Amor. These products are produced in the Wirral by artist Gemma.
She has a wide choice of illustrations to choose from, but this was one of our favourites. This gorgeous print features a dog and personalised details. There’s a range of dog breeds to choose from, including accessories, the frame colour and option to include or not include the quote.
How lovely would these look on your wall?
Dicky Bag
There’s nothing worse than carrying an awkward, inconvenient and smelly bag of dog poop for ages while looking for a bin. We love this invention and it’s become our own best furiend.
With the Dicky Bag, poo bags now go in a temporary bin during your walk. This lightweight, odour and leak-proof portable bin can be easily attached to dog leads, trousers, jackets, backpacks and more. Inside the lid, there’s a pocket for fresh bags and a replaceable air freshener disc that sits in the bottom and helps the bag smell better when emptied.
Amy Lucy Designs
Another Christmas related product (sorry not sorry she says eating a mince pie). There’s nothing we love more about Christmas than seeing our dogs tuck into their very own Christmas stocking. What better way to celebrate that than with a personalised stocking.
Amy Lucy creates quality, handmade gifts in Telford. She’s created a small selection of doggy products, including stockings, Christmas sacks, mugs, gift boxes and more. The Christmas stocking features a personalised name and a traditional, tartan paw print. Perfect for popping by the fireplace, mantlepiece, or make-shift hooks this Christmas. We love it!
Giraffe and Custard
I mean, let’s face it. We all have a dog who rules the roost (or the sofa). These personalised cushion covers make the perfect statement. Put a soft fluffy cushion in here and your pooch will adore snoozing with the pillow. Alternatively, pick it up as a gift for another dog lover!
Giraffe and Custard offer a wide range of products using the latest printing technology and quality materials. These covers are personalised with the dog’s name and are made in a very high-quality heavy linen-textured material which is strong and durable. They’re also machine washable.
20% Off Pet Products
If that wasn’t enough to get your tails wagging. Amazon is offering 20% off the range of its own-brand AmazonBasics pet supplies for Prime members, from now until October 14th. The prices you’ll see are without the 20% discount – the discount will be applied when you go to check out.
Don’t forget to add Prime Day to your calendar on the 13th October so you don’t miss out on spending that juicy £10 credit.
Happy shopping! Let us know if you spot any special deals in the comments below.

The Dicky Bag looks amazing! I’ve been looking for something like that as the bins are far too far apart on some of our walks. Thanks for the great tips!
