Whilst dogs are not allowed in the Palace itself, in the formal gardens or the maze, They are allowed (as long as they are kept on lead) in a fairly large part of the Palace Gardens.
You CAN take your dog into the rose garden, The Tiltyard, The wilderness and the courtyard at the front of the Palace. The best bit is there is no admission fee for the dog friendly areas.
The Tiltyard is the perfect place for a picnic, or if you don't fancy a picnic, you can visit The Tiltyard Cafe. Dogs are not allowed inside the cafe but you can sit in the terrace with your furry friend.
In the wilderness there is woods, shrubs and long grass areas to explore. There is also a little kiosk selling drinks and ice cream

Your dog is not allowed in the Palace but allowed to go to the front entrance and on the beautiful walk around the perimeter and in the great park. Beautiful river walk all the way to Kingston

16/09/2023 at 12:38 pmUntil about 4 years ago dogs were allowed in the part of the grounds that is free to enter. It was a nice walk and you could sit outside the cafe with them. Water was provided and staff were friendly. Now dogs cannot get into the gardens at all. Bit of a backward step given the number of dog owners has increased. You can still walk them in home park (adjacent to the palace grounds), Bushy Park (across the road) or along the river. I miss my walks through the rose garden and visits for coffee and cake/ice cream.
