The Kennel Club Library is Europe's biggest dog library, and are happy to welcome visitors and help you with your dog research.
The Kennel Club Library holds books on every Kennel Club recognised breed and also covers a whole host of topics, such as dog training, dog breeding, dogs shows, field trials and other dog activities, dog health and veterinary care, dogs in art and even dogs in literature. The collection of rare dog books includes books dating back to the 17th Century. They also keep a wide selection of dog magazines and dog newspapers.
The Kennel Club Dog Art Gallery houses the largest collection of dog paintings in Europe.
Opened in 2003 this informative art gallery provides a centre of learning for all those wishing to research the dog in art. It is also a place of enjoyment for everyone interested in dogs. The collection features works by famous dog artists, A series of dog art exhibitions are also held in the gallery every year on a variety of themes, featuring sculptures, drawings as well as dog paintings. Past displays include breed exhibitions and dog subjects.The space combines tradition and elegance with the functional requirements of a modern art gallery.
Located in central London, the nearest tube station is Green Park, which is a short walk away.
opening hours are by appointment, Monday - Friday, 9.30am - 4.30pm.
Dogs are welcome inside, but you need to let them know you will be bringing your furry friend along when you make the appointment.
