Wales’ First Dog Friendly Cinema is Coming to Swansea
Bringing the Chinese New Year of The Dog in style in collaboration with Cinema & Co
We’re launching Wales’ first ever dog friendly cinema event, in collaboration with Cinema & Co. The Castle Street Venue will screen the Disney Classic Homeward Bound on Saturday, February 17th at 6PM. It also celebrates the Chinese New Year of the Dog which begins the same weekend.
Prior to the screening there will be a quiz about famous dogs in film and TV and dedicated doggy snacks will be available for the pampered pooches. Burns Pet Nutrition will also be joining in on the cinema antics by providing dog owners with nutritional advice.
Fun fur the whole family
Founder of Dog Furiendly, Adele Pember said: “We are welcoming dogs of all shapes and sizes to be a part of this dog friendly cinema and quiz evening. Dog friendly cinema screenings have captured cinema-goers in London and Glasgow, so we’re super excited to bring something like it to Wales.”
“The event will take place on the same weekend as the Chinese New Year of the Dog and we’re encouraging dog owners to share new experiences with their dogs throughout the year.” she added.
Anna Redfern, Proprietor of Cinema & Co Swansea said: “We are excited to open up the cinema to our furry friends and hope they find our venue as comfortable and relaxing as our humans do.”

The Film? Homeward Bound!
Homeward Bound (now celebrating its 25th anniversary!), before the Seavers leave for a family vacation to San Francisco, they drop off their pets — Chance (Michael J. Fox), an adventurous American bulldog; Shadow (Don Ameche), a wise golden retriever; and Sassy (Sally Field), a cautious cat — at a friend’s ranch. But when the animals start to worry that they’ve been left for good, the three embark together on a treacherous and thrilling journey to find their way back home through the California wilderness.
