Widbrook Grange: Dog Friendly Afternoon Tea

Hey there, fellow dog lovers! It’s Mitzi and Heidi here, the dynamic mother-daughter duo from the charming countryside near Bath. We’re all about sniffing out the best dog-friendly adventures every weekend with our beloved pawrents. On a dreary Sunday, we decided there’s nothing better than indulging in a Doggy Afternoon Tea at the stunning Widbrook Grange in Bradford on Avon, Wiltshire.

Is Widbrook Grange Dog Friendly?

Yes! Widbrook Grange isn’t just dog friendly – it’s a dog’s dream come true. This Georgian country house hotel welcomes dogs with open arms, making it the perfect getaway for pet parents looking to explore the beautiful Wiltshire countryside with their furry friends in tow.

From the moment you and your pooch step paw and foot into the hotel, the staff greet you with a level of warmth and hospitality that instantly makes you feel at home. Significantly, the hotel does not just allow dogs; it celebrates them. Not only does the hotel allow dogs, it celebrates them. With sprawling gardens for your four-legged pals to explore and plenty of dog-friendly amenities, Widbrook Grange ensures your dog’s stay is as comfortable and enjoyable as yours. Dive into our tail-wagging tale below.

A Pawsitively Perfect Sunday Morning

The moment we heard our pawrents stirring, we leapt from our beds, eagerly awaiting those morning cuddles and kisses as soon as they opened the kitchen door. True to form, we greeted them with our signature wiggle butts and smothered them in love. Sundays are our absolute fave – they’re all about fun and frolics!

After quickly polishing off our breakfast (noticing it was a tad smaller than usual… hmm, a clue perhaps?), our suspicions were confirmed. We were off to Widbrook Grange for a scrumptious doggy afternoon tea! Our tails couldn’t stop wagging at the news.

Finally, after what seemed like an eternity, our hoomans were ready, and we piled into the car. Our journey to Widbrook Grange only took 20 minutes, but not before a quick stop to boast to our grandpawrents about our posh lunch plans. Then, we were off to our delightful destination!

A Sunday Feast for the Furry

As we arrived at Widbrook Grange, its beauty mesmerised us – an 18th-century Georgian country house nestled amidst the lush Wiltshire landscape. This 19-bedroom farmhouse retreat serves as a haven for dogs and their owners, providing the perfect countryside escape.

The moment we trotted through the front door, the friendly staff showered us with affection, making us feel right at home. Seated in a gorgeous conservatory overlooking the gardens, we eagerly awaited our afternoon tea.

A Trio of Canine Culinary Delights

Our doggy afternoon tea was nothing short of spectacular:

  • The bottom bowl brimmed with delicious Lily’s Kitchen wet food.
  • The middle bowl offered organic doggy biscuits and a surprise tennis ball (yes, you read that right!).
  • The top bowl was crowned with a frothy puppachino.

To top it off, we sipped on Pawsecco, feeling utterly pampered with a posh, refillable water bowl at our disposal.

Our hoomans savoured a spread of tantalising sandwiches, scones with jam and cream, and a selection of cakes, all complemented by tea, coffee, or prosecco. Truly, it was a feast fit for kings and queens – both human and canine!

Afterwards, we lounged in the famed gin bar, letting our sumptuous meal settle.

Dreamy Sunday Downtime

What’s a Sunday without a blissful nap? We strolled over to the stable block and discovered a cosy room awaiting us, complete with all the doggy essentials for a perfect snooze. Our hoomans had a luxurious bed too, which, of course, we had to approve with a quick jump and snuggle.

Reflecting on our day at Widbrook Grange, we were all smiles, full bellies, and wagging tails. It was a doggy afternoon tea experience to remember, earning our enthusiastic paws of approval. We’re already dreaming of our next visit. A massive thank you to everyone at Widbrook Grange for making our Sunday truly special.
