Breakfast or Brunch
There’s no better way to prepare for the day in the city than with a big slap-up breakfast or tasty pastry. Liverpool has a delicious collection of places where the dog is welcome too.
The most popular of those is Rough Hand Made, with a mouth-watering range of hand made pastries, cakes, bread and buns. What we love best about this place is that the shop is designed so you can see the bakers baking, and on the other side is the glorious view of Albert Dock! We also love the Bagelry, serving a range of bagels and fillings that cater to everyone.
Looking for a traditional breakfast? Bicycle and tail-wagging cafe Ryde has your back, with a full English, open sandwiches and American waffles.
Looking for a gluten-free, vegan, vegetarian breakfast or brunch? LoveLocks has a range of porridge, toppings on toast (bacon, eggs, spinach, avocado) and french toast. A favourite of many locals is the peanut butter, banana & pecans on toast! For a vegan and vegetarian specific menu, Down the Hatch is pawfect! Not only do they welcome our furry pals with open arms, but have a great range for Brunch, including the Big Boy Brekky complete with vegan sausages, Loaded Toasts or Butties with a range of toppings!
Looking for a coffee spot? We adore the award-winning Bold Street Coffee As well as serving brunchy foods, this place has a passion for a good brew with a regularly changing featured filter coffee to keep the tastebuds excited.
LoveLocks also has a great range of coffee with locally sourced roasted coffee beans and if coffee isn’t your thing, a varied selection of Dorset tea.
Things To Do
Liverpool is never short of things to do, and we have a couple of favourite ways to spend the day and make memories with the pooch.
If there’s one thing Liverpool is famous for, it’s the Beatles! What better way to explore Liverpool than with the dog friendly, Beatles Fab 4 Taxi Tour. This black taxi tour takes you to all of the places made famous by The Beatles, with a couple of spots to take that Instagram worthy shot.
Here’s another for your pup-ket list – did you know you can take your pooch paddleboarding? Liverpool SUP Co do a SUP and PUP session either in the scenic Albert Dock or the stunning Leeds/Liverpool canal!
Finally, there’s nothing better than switching off from technology and connecting with a good old fashioned board game. Sugar and Dice is a dog friendly board game cafe with a world of board games to enjoy, delicious homemade meals and freshly baked cakes. We could stay here all day.
Next up – Lunch! One thing is for certain, you’re never short of a place to lunch with the dog in Liverpool – in fact, you could potentially eat around the world in this one city.
If you love street food, the number one place to hit up with the pooch is Ten Streets Market. Ten Streets Market is a hidden gem just off Dock Road on Cotton Street. Not only are they dog friendly, they also have dog treats available for all furry visitors!
Another pawfect place for street food is the Baltic Market who welcome our furry pals with open arms. Regular events also take place such as the markets every Sunday including farmers markets, art markets and, our favourite, dog markets.
For American style hot dogs, bespoke cocktails and a super cool place to hang out with your dog; head over to Salt Dog Slims. Alternatively, for the same tail-wagging welcome, but with tasty Italian pizza slices with a mad topping twist like chicken and waffle and Big Mac, visit Crazy Pedro’s.
La Finca EIvissa is a tasty tapas restaurant with a variety of Balearic-inspired cocktails and Spanish craft beers. Bundobust is filled with the vibrant and varied street foods of India and craft beers to boot (I told you we could eat around the world).
Vegan? Down the Hatch offers a variety of vegetarian and vegan delights. Wash it down with a few cocktails and enjoy the city vibe of Liverpool with your canine buddy.
We’ve already mentioned the fabulous dog friendly markets. Ten Streets and Baltic, where you can find hidden trinkets and treasures, but it’s also worth noting that the majority of shops at Liverpool ONE are also dog friendly. Shops include HMV, Waterstones, All Saints, Levi’s and Office! There’s also a handy water station for puppers to hydrate!
When it comes to drinks, you are spoilt for choice! Fancy a cocktail? Our favourite, with their premium, craft cocktails is Writer’s Block! This place has been created so that people can relax and write in a chilled out bar – perfect for our pooches to unwind next to you. They also serve locally sourced food including meat, cheese and bread boards and deli items.
Fancy some delicious craft beers? The Dead Crafty Beer Company is the place to be. With an incredibly ever-changing exciting range of beers and meet the brewers events, this place will keep you coming back for more
We also love Constellations & The Observatory, a kaleidoscopic cafe, bar and community venue with a killer beer garden. They love our furry pals and like all venues in this blog, they’re welcome both inside and out.
