Located in central Chester, The Brewery Tap is one of the most historical buildings in Chester.
Not only is The Brewery Tap worth visiting for the craft beer alone, it's also set in a beautiful Jacobean, timber-framed building that's oozing with character. Its imposing 18th-century brick façade creates the perfect setting for you to sample their range of craft beers and delicious food.
It steps up to a lofty barrel-vaulted bar where they serve their well-kept ales, five guest beers, local ciders along with a good choice of wines. They are also known for their wide selection of cask ales from their very own brewery, Spitting Feathers. All the food is freshly prepared using locally sourced seasonal ingredients, some from their very own HQ, Common Farm.
Owned originally by the Gamul family, the pews and other rustic furniture on flagstones are an interesting part of the décor to say the least. The tapestry on the walls and a large carved red-sandstone fireplace adds to the charm of the place, while you sit back and work your way through our craft ale list!
Food is served until 9pm daily. Please note we do not take reservations. Tables are on a first-come, first served basis.

This is the first time we have visited The Brewery Tap for food and it did not disappoint! The menu changes often due to the fresh local produce available, there is a large range of food that caters to varied dietary requirements. The staff were incredibly friendly to us and to Inka, she enjoyed lots of cuddles! The only slight issue is the lack of space, I did find Inka got in the way a little.
