No visit to the central belt in Scotland is complete without taking your doggle to see The Kelpies. Just outside Falkirk, these 30 metre high horse head sculptures by Andy Scott dominate the view and can make for some interesting driving along that part of the M9! The Kelpies sit with the Helix park which has a good network of paths to explore. If you book The Kelpies Tour, dogs are welcome to join and although they aren't allowed in the Visitor Centre there are doggy lead clips on the picnic tables outside. When we went there was an outside van selling coffees etc and they slipped our Dog Furiendly Explorer a gravy bone. Don't forget to take your Kelpie Selfie before leaving!!

Gorgeous statues, photos honestly don’t do them justice! I love the mythology behind kelpies anyway (anyone who doesn’t know – a kelpie is a water spirit that lures humans onto its back, then takes them to a Loch or the sea, and drowns them before devouring them – there’s now to it but that’s the basic run down). But you can walk around helix Park, and there is a lovely gift shop and cafe.
