Description
Ian, Lisa, Thomas & Jack (Formerly of The Fleece Inn, Bishop Wilton, The Three Tuns, Raskelf & The Bay Horse, Stamford Bridge.)
Have now owned the Highwayman since October 2015, where does time go !!
During lockdown, Ian has re-decorated the inside of the pub upstairs & down. We have had a new paint job outside, looks fresh, loved and ready to go
Our beer garden is second to none! We have invested in new gazebo's, umbrella's, to help against a change in the weather. We also have a new lockdown addition 'Harley' our Fox Red Lab, who has helped with this difficult and uncertain time, but we now look forward to welcoming our customers back.
We serve honest home cooked food, a good selection of fine wines & well kept real ales, both local & guest.
Our food is locally sourced, seasonal and always freshly prepared, your patience at busy times will be appreciated.
Our restaurant provides a traditional and relaxing atmosphere with soft lighting & furnishings to complement the exposed oak framework.
A friendly family welcome is extended to all who visit us. We can cater for various functions, all of which will go smoothly from start to finish, from finger buffets to large dinners tailored to meet your requirements.
Sheriff Hutton is now not just the place of business, it's home!
Few villages touch national history as closely as Sheriff Hutton. Castle ruins dominate the scene with grandeur and fine countryside
not far away.
A vibrant, friendly village, a pleasure to be part of.

We had been walking in the Howardian hills and on the way back to our lodge we made a pit stop in Sherriff Hutton where we came across this pub.
There’s a vast outdoor area with tables, but as the weather was turning, we sat indoors beside the roaring fire.
We ordered food and the portion size for the light bites was very generous.
Dog water bowls were provided outside, but were very welcome.
