Description
'The Architect is a classic pub restaurant within Chester's city walls overlooking the racecourse at Roodee. We are named in honour of Thomas Harrison, a prolific architect who designed the building as his own residence, along with designing Grosvenor Bridge and much of Chester Castle. The pub is a story of two halves: turn right through the glass connecting passage and the original Georgian building has cosy, domestic rooms that naturally lend themselves to a series of intimate dining rooms in classic style. Turn left into the new garden room and you'll find a spacious open plan room with a large bar at its heart and a buzzy, pubby feel to things, with glazed doors leading out to the dining terrace.'
A review from a dog owner.
Came in for a meal on my birthday over the festive period. Booked the table for lunch earlier in the day and explained we would be bringing our dog.
After a quick run with her around the racecourse (recommended so that they snooze under the table) - we walked up and were greeted with friendly and helpful staff.
When sitting down we found dog biscuits and water waiting for our dog, and the most perfect table for our group size and four legged guest.
Brilliant food, great atmosphere and good value for money based on these things. Cant wait to return - thank you for making my birthday lunch a lovely day.

Always love going here, especially when it involves a good run round on Chester racecourse before going to The Architect. They have a great outdoor area for use in the summer and dog friendly bar area. Always welcomed with a doggy treat and fresh water.

We always have a lovely visit whenever we visit! Lots of fusses from staff too, it’s a no brainer to visit after a walk on the Racecourse.
