My husband I stayed in one of Auchrannie’s couples retreat lodges with our cockapoo. It was a lovely memorable weekend away for us. The lodge itself had lovely decor and was full of modern tech including an alexa! The real bonus is that the entire resort is extremely dog friendly. The couples retreat lodges are located at the further end of the resort and because of this it made it easy to be able to quickly exit the resort grounds onto back roads and trails where we could let our dog off lead. On the resort grounds, dogs are to be on lead which is understandable. We were thankful we packed our stake to be able to pop that into the ground so that our dog could still roam freely while safely being attached in the back private garden area at the lodge. We fully intent to return to Auchrannie at some point in the future!

My new husband and I stayed here with our dog as part of our island hopping honeymoon. The Auchrannie resort is very dog friendly with a number of restaurants that allow dogs access such as the Brambles, which we dined in on our first evening. When we entered the hotel room, they had left some dog biscuits and a big bowl for water, which was great. The staff were very friendly also and they allowed us a later check out when we were worried about our dog spending too much time outdoors in what was scorching weather the day we were leaving. My only minor criticism is the cost as it is very expensive to stay there and that is even though we took a simple double room on a room only basis. Having said that, if you chose to stay here you are aware that it will cost as a highly regarded resort. Even though the room was expensive, the food and drink prices I found very reasonable and in keeping with average prices elsewhere… The Brambles restaurant also gave us free prosecco for being on our honeymoon, which was so kind. It is worth noting that you should book all your restaurants for dinner/ spa treatments etc before you go as I saw others checking in who were unable to get a reservation. Overall, a great stay and our dog settled very happily here too, which was the main thing for us!
